Farm Ballads eBook Will Carleton
This colletion of poems by Will Carleton has been around for some time now. I am fortunate enough to own (and still read) a first edition copy published in 1873. The author's style of certainly a good representation of the "peoples poetry" of that era. I stongly suspect that the current generation of readers might not be tuned into this sort of work, but, that is their loss. Not only do we have some great writing with this work, we also have wonderful view into the life and times of the folks who settled our country, and for the most part, made it what it is to day. There are many, many bits of wisdom incerted into each and every piece of work the author has presented here. I have not had the opportunity to read or review the current edition of this work, but I do hope they included some of the wonderful illustrations which are found in the orginal. Highly recommend this one and do recommend you add it to your collection as you will want to give it a reread from time to time. A Note to the younger reader. If, after reading some of this work, you find that you feel it is a bit "hokey." do be aware that in about 130 years there is a good chance your writing will be viewed the same.Product details

Farm Ballads eBook Will Carleton Reviews
This is a wonderful reprint of a very old book that we found at the McMillan House in Savannah, GA. The first poem hooked me and I had to order the book, which arrived promptly and as described.
